An uplifting Monday morning..Un incoraggiante Lundedi mattina..

An uplifting Monday morning!..once again a day with bright sunshine and no snow! either side of the Alps there are metres of snow and even in the south of Italy but nothing around the lake..how strange. The festivities are all but over so my shop was for household basics, plus a visit to the chemist for aspirin for a the winter sniffles, and the garage for a replacement headlight, they always seem to go in January, it must be the cold and the damp.Also a fill of diesel at very cheap prices, let's hope this trend continues. On my way up the mountain I stopped to take a few photo's peering over the terracotta roofs of Brisino, en route to Magognino..I never cease to be amazed not just at the view, but at all the little and large properties "begging for a make over " a little bit of sympathetic restoration. Anywhere else in the world they would be bought by some property developer revamped and sold for vast profits as holiday homes,but so far this state of events seems only to appeal to foreigners. It does seem odd though with a strong underlying demand for new property that building continues at a pace, leaving so many older neglected houses in disarray. I can only assume that complicated legal matters, such as inheritance tax, or sharing the assets in a large family make progress so cumbersome, just another quirky trait of life in Italy.

Ancora una volta al giorno, con sole splendente e senza neve! entrambi i lati delle Alpi ci sono metri di neve e anche nel sud Italia, ma niente di tutto il lake..how strano. I festeggiamenti sono tutti, ma più di così il mio negozio era per le cose essenziali per la casa, oltre a una visita alla farmacia per l'aspirina per il raffreddore d'inverno, e il garage per un faro sostituzione, sembra sempre di andare a gennaio, deve essere freddo e il damp.Also un riempimento di gasolio a prezzi molto economici, speriamo questa tendenza continua. Sulla mia strada su per la montagna mi sono fermato a prendere un paio di peering di foto sui tetti di terracotta di Brisino, in rotta verso Magognino..I mai cessare di essere stupito non solo la vista, ma a tutte le proprietà piccoli e grandi "implorando un make over "un po 'di restauro simpatico. In qualsiasi altra parte del mondo sarebbero acquistati da qualche promotore rinnovato e venduto per enormi profitti, come case vacanza, ma finora questo stato di eventi sembra solo fare appello agli stranieri. Sembra strano però con una forte domanda di fondo per nuova proprietà che edificio continua ad un ritmo, lasciando tanti anziani case trascurati in disordine. Posso solo supporre questioni legali che complicate, come l'imposta di successione, o la condivisione dei beni in una famiglia numerosa fare progressi così ingombrante, solo un altro tratto eccentrico della vita in Italia.
