Another glorious sunny morning see's the departure of Nùria and Albert . A long drive lies ahead to Barcelona, maybe 10/12 hours dependent on the traffic. At least they have a day at home on Sunday to prepare for the return to work. A chance to catch up on house hold chores and the unenviable task of washing the holiday clothes!
 Un'altra gloriosa soleggiata mattina sede è la partenza di Núria e Albert. Un lungo viaggio attende a Barcellona, forse 10/12 ore a seconda del traffico. Almeno hanno un giorno a casa di Domenica a preparare per il ritorno al lavoro. Un'occasione per recuperare il restauro di casa tenere e il non invidiabile compito di lavare i vestiti per le vacanze!

That rare sight of sunshine was much in evidence this week for Scott and Mary's visit, making the views from Mottarone's summit truly spectacular, and the mountain walks heavenly. September usually brings some stability to the weather scene, but the current high pressure system is unprecedented for this time of year. The big decision is what to wear, as mornings can be as low as 10°c, but by mid afternoon 26°c is not unusual..phew..the forecast promises another 7/10 days of this so a bonus indeed, and an opportunity to cut some wood for the log store, because we all know what lies ahead. The local meteo experts predict a severe winter so we'd better get on with the house maintenance particularly the re varnishing of timbers, on all the doors and shutters, together with all the sundry flower boxes ...a mammoth task.

Quella rara vista di sole era molto in evidenza questa settimana per la visita di Scott e di Maria, rendendo i panorami dalla vetta Mottarone davvero spettacolare, e la passeggiate in montagna celeste. Settembre di solito porta una certa stabilità alla scena meteo, ma il sistema di alta pressione attuale è senza precedenti per questo periodo dell'anno. The Festa dell 'Ombrellaio "Ombrellino d' Oro" Massino Visconti

Another busy weekend with the Festa at Massino Visconti, which combined folk music, food and drink, and my reason for being there, an art exhibition to which I got certified. There will be many of my friends who think I should have been certified many years ago!
I've enclosed a few examples of the paintings being viewed together with the Italian/Irish band who created celtic foot stamping music all afternoon.
The highlight of this civic function where the speeches, which managed to span a good hour..A medal for everyone who stayed awake!
At the end of the photographs you'll notice a curious birdie sat on La Casa's gate. This was a very funny present given to me by friends Emanuela and Gioby. It warbles and chirps when it's sensor picks up movement. Needless to say our resident cats are going demented!..The batteries are solar charged so many crazy hours of enjoyment await!
 Un altro fine settimana molto affollato con la Festa a Massino Visconti, che ha unito musica folk, cibo e bevande, e la mia ragione per essere lì, una mostra d'arte a cui mi sono certificate. Ci saranno molti dei miei amici che pensano che io sarei stata certificata tanti anni fa!

Ho allegato una alcuni esempi delle pitture essendo visualizzate insieme alla band italiana / irlandese che ha creato piede celtica stampaggio musica tutto il pomeriggio.

Il clou di questa funzione civica, dove i discorsi, che sono riusciti a abbracciano una buona medaglia hour..A per tutti coloro che rimase sveglio!

Alla fine delle fotografie noterete un curioso birdie sedette sul cancello di La Casa. Questo è stato molto divertente presente datomi da amici Emanuela e Gioby. E gorgheggia e cinguetta quando è il sensore raccoglie il movimento. Inutile dire che i nostri gatti residenti stanno andando demente! .. Le batterie sono cariche solare tante ore folli di divertimento ti aspettano!

Birthday gathering at Al Sciucc Ristorante..Raduno di compleanno all' Sciucc Ristorante di Stropino

Another lovely evening spent at Vera and Sante's Risorante Al Sciucc di Stropino, to celebrate our September birthdays Michella on the 16th, and Nicoletta and I both on the 20th. Adding sparkle, wit and beauty to this relaxed gathering was Michella's son Lorenzo, and Nicoletta's daughter Emanuela, and partner Gioby. Thank you everyone, not forgetting Penny of course for a great night.
 Un'altra bella serata trascorsa al Vera e di Sante Risorante Al Sciucc di Stropino, per festeggiare i nostri compleanni settembre Michella il 16, e Nicoletta e io il 20. Aggiunta scintilla, arguzia e la bellezza di questo raduno rilassato era figlio di Michella Lorenzo, e la figlia di Nicoletta Emanuela, e partner Gioby. Grazie a tutti, senza dimenticare Penny di corso per una grande notte.

A lovely impromptu evening full of fun and laughter spent celebrating Michelle's birthday, it was just so nice to have dinner in the garden, as the evening temperatures have become quite chilly.
The photo's below show Susan, Michelle, Penny and Mr Pepper.
For the ladies it's another holiday almost over. This being their 4th visit but I think there's still lots to see and we never tire of their wonderful company.

After the appalling wet weather in both the Spring and the Summer of this year..(2014) untold damage and destruction to the local forests is just becoming evident. Added to the trees broken limbs, we are now witnessing fungal infections which thrive in these current humid conditions. To literally try and stop the rot, hundreds of trees have been pruned back with almost surgical precision. Whilst the vista looks very severe at the moment, I'm quite sure that given a year the whole area will be restored to good health, and the appearance could actually enhance the village approach.
 Dopo la pioggia terribile sia la primavera e l'estate di quest'anno .. (2014) danni incalcolabili e la distruzione delle foreste locali è solo diventando evidente. Aggiunto agli arti alberi rotti, stiamo assistendo infezioni fungine che prosperano in queste condizioni umide correnti. Per cercare letteralmente e fermare il marciume, centinaia di alberi sono stati potati indietro con precisione quasi chirurgica. Mentre la vista sembra molto grave in questo momento, sono abbastanza sicuro che, dato un anno l'intera area verrà ripristinato a una buona salute, e la comparsa potrebbe effettivamente migliorare l'approccio villaggio.

A welcome burst of sunshine brings a boost to this years bean crop, Pepper and Tommy are seen as enthusiastic helpers in the harvest game, all vowing for Penny's attention...looks like Minestrone is on the menu this week!

The first day of September and summer arrives! Beh, il primo nove giorno del mese di settembre e L'estate finalmente arriva!

Well after 9 month of this year the summer has finally arrived in Lake Maggiore for 2014. That means it's now only 12 weeks to Christmas! Such variety is confusing and alarming,I wonder how "mother nature" reacts to this burst of warmth, and glorious sunshine! I might have to put my woolly vests back in the drawer!
 
Beh, dopo nove mesi di quest'anno l'estate è finalmente arrivata in Lago Maggiore per il 2014 Ciò significa che è ora solo 12 settimane per Natale! Tale varietà è confusa e preoccupante, mi chiedo come "madre natura" reagisce a questa esplosione di calore e sole splendente! Avrei potuto mettere le mie giubbotti lanosi nel cassetto!
