The serenity of a spring evening with it's breath taking light.The grey clouds have been retreating all afternoon, to reveal a clear sky and silhouetted mountains, the setting sun creating magical long shadows, and highlighting the contrasting colours of the garden. it would be nice if it could stay like this for a few more months, but alas,all will be different in the coming days.
 La serenità di una sera di primavera con esso è mozzafiato light.the nuvole grigie sono state ritirando tutto il pomeriggio, per rivelare un cielo e silhouette chiare le montagne, il sole al tramonto creando lunghe ombre magiche, e mettendo in evidenza i colori contrastanti del giardino. sarebbe bello se potesse rimanere così per un paio di mesi, ma ahimè, tutto sarà diverso nei prossimi giorni.

A lush Lake Maggiore after yesterdays rain, leaving fresh snow on higher ground, reminding me of the English expression "never cast a clout until May is out" A clout being slang for a woolly vest. The Italians have the same expression, not surprisingly as the Spring weather can be so variable. This year already we have seen a change from one day to the next of 16°C incredible. That said the air temperature is generally much warmer now, and the gardens are responding with tremendous growth, an early harvest maybe?
 Un rigoglioso Lago Maggiore dopo la pioggia di ieri, lasciando neve fresca più in alto, mi ricorda l'espressione inglese "mai gettato un peso fino a maggio è fuori" un peso di essere gergo per una maglia di lana. Gli italiani hanno la stessa espressione, non a caso come il tempo di primavera può essere così variabile. Quest'anno già abbiamo visto un cambiamento da un giorno all'altro di 16 ° C incredibile. Detto questo la temperatura dell'aria è generalmente molto più caldo ora, ei giardini stanno rispondendo con una grande crescita, una vendemmia anticipata, forse?

A wonderful start to Spring with temperatures around 24°c. After an early breakfast I decided to work in the garden whilst it was still cool, this would be normal in summer, but most unusual in the Spring. The colours of the gardens particularly those of the Gulf of Borromeo are stunning, with Isola Madre and Isola Belle like paradise. Even though I've lived here now for almost ten years, I still find the scenery breathtaking. I'm still like a tourist taking photographs in amazement!! I took a photo of our house to try and capture the sunny scene.
 Un meraviglioso inizio di primavera con temperature intorno ai 24 ° C. Dopo la colazione ho deciso di lavorare in giardino, mentre era ancora fresco, questo sarebbe normale in estate, ma più insolita in primavera. I colori dei giardini in particolare quelle del Golfo di Borromeo sono meravigliose, con Isola Madre e Isola Belle come il paradiso. Anche se ho vissuto qui ora per quasi dieci anni, trovo ancora il paesaggio mozzafiato. Sono ancora come un turista scattare fotografie con stupore !! Ho preso una foto della nostra casa per cercare di catturare la scena soleggiata.

Come daybreak the gardener is already busy with his chores, with not enough time in the day.Vieni alba il giardiniere è già impegnato con suoi lavori, con tempo non abbastanza nel corso della giornata

Come daybreak the gardener is already busy with his chores,with not enough time in the day. A few photo's around the garden which are a little shady, the whole scene will be full of colour after breakfast!
Today we plant the tomatoes, the plum San Merzzano which we use for making pasta sauces  and meaty ragù.For the green  salads we grow the little cherry tomatoes who's seeds come from Sicily  Also the courgettes, pumpkins, cucumbers, beans of every variety, borlotti, fagiolini (like the French green beans). Always a busy time, but just so rewarding.
Vieni alba il giardiniere è già impegnato con i suoi lavori, con il tempo non abbastanza nel corso della giornata. Qualche foto di tutto il giardino, che sono un po 'buia, tutta la scena sarà piena di colore dopo la prima colazione!
Oggi piantiamo i pomodori, la prugna a forma di San Marzano che usiamo per fare sughi per la pasta e carnoso ragù.For le insalate verdi cresciamo i pomodorini ciliegia forma che è in semi provengono dalla Sicilia anche le zucchine, zucche, cetrioli, fagioli di ogni varietà , borlotti, fagioli (come i fagioli verdi francesi). Sempre un tempo occupato, ma solo così gratificante.

A busy time with new planting in the garden.How quickly the seasons change, Spring this year has almost been thrust upon us, although I'm wary of these temperatures in the 20°c 's it is only mid April and frost is still lurking. Chatting with some friends yesterday they had just returned from a walk in Alpe Devero but had to curtail there intended route as heavy snow blocked the footpaths, and bridges over the rivers where impassable! What a contrast as today in the garden you could have your shorts or a bikini on! For me today I'm wearing a thick fleece jacket as I appear to have succumbed to a virus, aches, pains and shivers, and a toilet never far away! What a day to feel poorly! Hopefully a 24 hour inconvenience, but frustrating with so much to do, and all this lovely sunshine! 
 Un tempo occupato con nuovi impianti nel giardino.Come rapidamente il cambiamento delle stagioni, primavera di quest'anno è quasi stata spinta su di noi, anche se sono attenti a queste temperature nei 20 ° c s 'è solo la metà di aprile e il gelo è ancora agguato. Chiacchierando con alcuni amici ieri avevano appena tornati da una passeggiata in Alpe Devero, ma ha dovuto limitare c'è intesa percorso come la neve pesante bloccato i sentieri e ponti sui fiumi dove impraticabile! Che contrasto, come oggi nel giardino si potrebbe avere pantaloncini o un bikini su! Per me oggi sto indossando una giacca in pile spessa come mi sembra di aver ceduto a un virus, dolori, dolori e brividi, e un bagno mai lontano! Che un giorno per sentire male! Speriamo che un inconveniente di 24 ore, ma frustrante con così tanto da fare, e tutto questo bel sole!

Fantastic "A relaxing day in the garden" Buona Pasqua tutti. After an overnight frost, a chilly start to the day, with temperatures only 3°c. But this was more than compensated for by another cloudless day and very warm sunshine. A few photo's showing the almost daily growth now, maybe another week and I can consider planting my vegetables and maybe even fill the flower boxes with the familiar display of bright red geraniums. The tomatoes will just have to wait another few weeks, after last years disastrous rain, I am taking every precaution.
 Fantastic "Un giorno di rilassante in giardino" Buona Pasqua tutti. Dopo una notte di gelo, un inizio freddo per la giornata, con temperature solo 3 ° c. Ma questo è stato più che compensato da un altro giorno senza nuvole e sole molto caldo. Qualche foto che mostra la crescita quasi ogni giorno ormai, forse un'altra settimana e posso considerare piantare le verdure e forse anche riempire le fioriere con la visualizzazione familiare di gerani rossi luminosi. I pomodori dovranno solo aspettare un altro paio di settimane, dopo ultimi anni pioggia disastrosa, sto prendendo ogni precauzione.

A Photographers paradise with the changing seasons and the variable light.
An exhilarating walk today that captures the beauty of the lake, even with huge waves crashing on it's shoreline. also by contrast, the pretty hamlets near to Magognino and the stunning views. And by contrast a few of the remaining areas of forest where fallen trees remain like corpses, blighting the landscape.A reminder of those dreadful winter storms and the enormity of the damage.
Una passeggiata esilarante oggi che cattura la bellezza del lago, anche con enormi onde che si infrangono su di esso la battigia. anche per contrasto, le belle frazioni vicine Magognino e la vista mozzafiato. E invece alcuni dei restanti aree di foresta dove gli alberi caduti rimangono come cadaveri, rovinando il promemoria landscape.A di quei terribili tempeste invernali e l'enormità del danno.
