Helicopter rescue as drama unfolds near Vezzo. After the harrowing sounds of the Ambulances sirens, there followed the arrival of the  air crew and paramedics in the regions  rescue helicopter . We watched from our balcony as the pilot skillfully circled and manoeuvred his machine in a very difficult and dangerous exercise. with only a tiny precise area to land. A magnificent piece of flying, let us all hope that the patients outcome is a good one.
 Soccorso in elicottero come il dramma si svolge nei pressi di Vezzo. Dopo i suoni strazianti delle sirene Ambulanze, seguì l'arrivo del personale di volo e personale paramedico in elicottero le regioni di soccorso. Abbiamo guardato dal nostro balcone come il pilota abilmente cerchiato e manovrato la sua macchina in un esercizio molto difficile e pericoloso. con solo un piccolo zona precisa di atterrare. Un magnifico pezzo di volare, lascia a tutti noi la speranza che l'esito dei pazienti è una buona.

Thankfully after weeks of heat, the cool mountain air of Stropino has once again allowed a comfortable nights sleep, after pleasant days exploring the lakes and mountains.
Quasi alla fine i viaggi per John e Jen Di Mura, e la figlia Isabella, da Delmar, Stato di New York. Dopo le loro avventure vacanze in Toscana frizzante, e il sentiero delle Cinque Terre.

Per fortuna dopo settimane di calore, l'aria fresca di montagna di Stropino ha ancora una volta consentito un sonno confortevole notti, dopo piacevoli giornate esplorare i laghi e le montagne.

An ancient shrine, full of reverence and mystery, a reminder of the past, but still a place of respect.Un antico santuario, pieno di riverenza e di mistero, un ricordo del passato, ma ancora un luogo di rispetto.

Strolling on the old mule trails throughout the local woodland you will frequently pass an old stone shrine,usually with skillfully capped and layered  slate or stone roofs. Most go back centuries but remain beautifully maintained and dressed with flowers of remembrance. A wonderful place to stop and think and share the spiritual presence of so many passing souls. What tales they could tell, and what changes this hallowed ground has witnessed.
 Un antico santuario, pieno di riverenza e di mistero, un ricordo del passato, ma ancora un luogo di rispetto.
Passeggiando sulle vecchie mulattiere in tutto il bosco locale si passa spesso un antico tempio di pietra, di solito con ardesia o pietra tetti abilmente ricoperti e stratificate. La maggior parte risalgono secoli, ma restano ben curato e vestito con i fiori della memoria. Un posto meraviglioso per fermarsi a riflettere e condividere la presenza spirituale di tante anime che passano. Che cosa racconti potevano raccontare, e quali cambiamenti questo terreno consacrato è stato testimone.

Lake Antrona, fresh mountain air and a great place to escape the heat and have a swim. Lago Antrona, aria fresca di maontagna e un luogo ideale per sfuggire al caldo e fare una nuotata rinfrescante.

Lake Antrona, fresh mountain air and a great place to escape the heat and have  a refreshing swim.We also had the benefit of visiting on a Monday so the circular lake walk was quiet, and so beautiful.
 Lago di Antrona, aria fresca di montagna e un luogo ideale per sfuggire al caldo e fare una nuotata rinfrescante. Abbiamo anche avuto il vantaggio di visitare su un Lunedi così il lago circolare a piedi era tranquillo, e così bello.

Sunday a leisurely day in the garden.But always work to do.With the continued high temperatures I've taken to watering the fruit and vegetables in the morning around 06.30 after which light weight chores can be attended to , leaving the rest of the day free for whatever comes along. This morning was particularly productive as I freshened up the tiles in a guests rooms shower with sparkling white grout, trimmed the hedges and over grown jasmine, and made an apricot and lemon cake, and all before breakfast!
 Domenica una giornata piacevole in giardino. Ma sempre lavoro da fare. Con le continue alte temperature che ho preso per irrigazione ortofrutticolo la mattina intorno 06.30 dopo di che lavori leggeri possono essere seguiti, lasciando il resto della giornata libera per ciò che viene avanti. Questa mattina è stato particolarmente produttivo come ho rinfrescato le mattonelle in una doccia ospiti camere con frizzante stucco bianco, tagliato le siepi e oltre cresciuto gelsomino, e ha fatto una torta di albicocche e limone, e tutto prima di colazione!

A few foto's that capture the wilting Mr Pepper and some of his pussy cat friends seeking shade in the lower garden.
Despite the lack of rain the tomatoes, beans, courgettes and pumpkins are growing rapidly. The myrtles have provided the local blackbirds with a bumper crop, seriously diminishing our jam production. Thankfully we have figs in abundance so something for the plate be it sweet or savoury.

Alcuni di foto che catturano l'avvizzimento signor Pepe e alcuni dei suoi amici figa gatto in cerca di ombra nel più basso giardino.

Nonostante la mancanza di pioggia i pomodori, fagioli, zucchine e zucche sono in rapida crescita. I mirti hanno fornito i merli locali con un raccolto eccezionale, diminuendo gravemente la nostra produzione di marmellata. Per fortuna abbiamo fichi in abbondanza quindi qualcosa per il piatto sia dolce o salato.

A hot July and the vibrant "Bignogna" seem good bed fellows!. This rambling specimen is to be seen in abundance this year as soaring temperatures reached 37°c in parts. Normally I would enclose a scene of Lago Maggiore, but this morning it was shrouded in a heat haze. A day for doing the indoor household chores where the cool shade is a blessing.
 Un caldo di luglio e la vibrante "Bignogna" sembrano bravi ragazzi letto !. Questo esemplare vagante è da vedere in abbondanza quest'anno le temperature impennata ha raggiunto 37 ° C in parti. Normalmente avrei racchiudere una scena di Lago Maggiore, ma questa mattina è stata avvolta in una foschia di calore. Una giornata per fare le faccende di casa al chiuso dove la fresca ombra è una benedizione.
