Bon voyage Fabienne and Andre, it really has been a pleasure being your hosts, the perfect guests, always full of fun, and a smile to greet you at every breakfast.
We hope your Clarinet exams are successful Andre, and look forward to seeing you both again soon, maybe in another season, the Autumn provides such a rich transformation with the mixed  forest ablaze with colour, and the snow capped mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
 Bon voyage Fabienne et André, il a vraiment été un plaisir d'être vos hôtes, les invités parfait, toujours plein d'amusement, et un sourire pour vous accueillir à chaque petit-déjeuner.

Nous espérons que vos examens de clarinette sont réussies Andre, et nous nous réjouissons à vous deux revoir bientôt, peut-être dans une autre saison, l'automne offre une telle transformation riche de la forêt mixte feu avec la couleur, et les montagnes enneigées offrant une superbe toile de fond.

Mottarone views en route to Lake Orta. Wonderful weather returns and a lovely opportunity to take our guests Beata and daughter Aleksandra to the mountains and to visit  the enchanting Lake Orta.

Tonight marked the finale of Vebania Dance Studio's Spectacular a bi annual event devoted to all sections of the school.This years show was an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz .It was held once again at the wonderful Theatre "La Fabbrica" in Villadossola.
Amongst the wonderful floral tributes was a little note that simply said "Thanks for all the moments, we will always remember in our lives"
All in all an emotional two nights of dance, both filled to capacity, a testimony to the support of so many enthusiastic and dedicated parents. 
 Stasera ha segnato il finale di Verbania Dance Studio. Spettacolare un evento annuale bi dedicato a tutte le sezioni della scuola. Questo spettacolo è stato anni un adattamento del Mago di Oz .Si è svolta ancora una volta al meraviglioso Teatro "La Fabbrica" di Villadossola.
Tra i meravigliosi omaggi floreali era una piccola nota che semplicemente detto "Grazie per tutti i momenti, ricorderemo per sempre nelle nostre vite"
Nel complesso un emotivi due notti di danza, sia pieno di capacità, una testimonianza al sostegno di tanti genitori entusiasti e dedicati.

What a month May has been, with Mediterranean sunshine one day, and high winds and torrential rain the next Today we all awoke to snow on Mottarone, what next I ask myself!! surely summer is coming soon ???
 Che un mese maggio è stato, con il sole del Mediterraneo, un giorno, e forti venti e piogge torrenziali prossima Oggi siamo tutti svegliati neve sul Mottarone, quello successivo mi chiedo !! sicuramente l'estate è in arrivo ???

Fond farewells to François and Marie Christine..What a wonderful few days we've had hosting this colourful French couple, such vitality and enthusiasm an example to us all.A reunion I think is a must when next we pass the Loire's great river and the charming town of Saumur.

Australian smiles brighten up an otherwise mixed day. Sorrisi Australiani illuminano una giornata altrimenti misto.

Australian smiles brighten up an otherwise mixed day. "The weather's got stuck" Penny would say, and it's true in this mountain region with variable temperatures, the rain falls on a rising ground temperatures, causing mist to form which again when it rises it cools and falls as rain again. A very frustrating cycle, but thankfully a high pressure system is approaching breaking sunshine for the weekend.
The photo below is of new "Aussie" arrivals Gordan and Cheryl always a joy to host, we only wish they were staying longer.

"Il tempo di è rimasto bloccato" Penny direbbe, ed è vero in questa regione di montagna con temperature variabili, la pioggia cade su un aumento delle temperature al suolo, provocando la nebbia a formare che ancora una volta quando sale si raffredda e scende come la pioggia di nuovo. Un ciclo molto frustrante, ma per fortuna un sistema di alta pressione si sta avvicinando la rottura del sole per il weekend.

La foto qui sotto è di nuovi arrivati "Aussie" Gordan e Cheryl sempre una gioia ospite, abbiamo solo voluto che stavano più a lungo.

Only on a busy bank holiday are we reminded of the beauty on our door step. With the unpleasantness of  traffic queues and hot tempers, it's better to meander the quiet lanes nearer to home. Today on my way up to the mountain village of Gignese  (only 10 minutes journey) I ventured down the track to the hamlet of Nocco. What a magnificent position, giving views of both the lake, and the mountains, and the numerous dwellings dotted over the alpine landscape.  
 Solo su un giorno festivo occupato siamo ricordati la bellezza fuori dalla nostra porta. Con la sgradevolezza di code di traffico e gli animi caldi, è meglio a serpeggiare i vicoli tranquilli vicino a casa. Oggi la mia strada fino al villaggio di montagna di Gignese (a soli 10 minuti di viaggio) mi sono avventurato giù la pista per la frazione di Nocco. Che magnifica posizione, offrendo vedute sia sul lago e le montagne, e le numerose abitazioni sparsi sul paesaggio alpino.
