A glad to be alive today....Un felice di essere vivo giorno

A glad to be alive day, a combination of the autumn hints now very evident, and the wonderful light,a brightness with such searching intensity, is it any wonder that the famous artists travelled such distances to capture this beauty.
I didn't have to go very far for these photo's, I simply opened the shutters in our bedroom, the views just roll out for miles...I guess I'm thankful and appreciative for this little piece of paradise.
 Un felice di essere vivo giorno, una combinazione dei suggerimenti autunno ormai molto evidenti, e la luce meravigliosa, una luminosità con una tale intensità la ricerca, c'è da meravigliarsi che i famosi artisti viaggiato tali distanze per catturare questa bellezza.
Non ho avuto bisogno di andare molto lontano per queste foto, ho aperto semplicemente le imposte nella nostra camera da letto, il punto di vista appena rotolano fuori per miglia ... credo di essere grato e riconoscente per questo piccolo pezzo di paradiso.

Pictured below are Sharon and Alex from Western Australia, living some 200 miles south of Perth. They have just completed their first visit to Italy, a nostalgia journey tracing Alex's relatives who originate around the Iseo area (near Bergamo)
Their stay in the Lake Maggiore area has been blessed with some wonderful sunshine and quite balmy days. We'll miss the cheerful company and hope to stay in touch through the pages of our BLOG...Buon viaggio...


Nella foto qui sotto sono Sharon e Alex da Western Australia, che vivono circa 200 miglia a sud di Perth. Hanno appena completato la loro prima visita in Italia, un viaggio la nostalgia rintracciare i parenti di Alex che ha origine intorno alla zona di Iseo (provincia di Bergamo)

Il loro soggiorno nella zona del Lago Maggiore è stata benedetta con alcuni meravigliosi giorni di sole e abbastanza tiepide. Ci manca l'allegra compagnia e spero di rimanere in contatto attraverso le pagine del nostro blog ... Buon viaggio ...

Stresa and the lake in October, so warm and restful......Oggi passeggiare in riva al lago era talmente rilassante,

 Today strolling by the lake was just so relaxing, the main tourist attractions have now closed, and it's like turning to a new chapter in a book.We are still blessed with blue skies from dawn to dusk, and mid day temperatures are a remarkable 24°c. By contrast the evening revert to a more seasonal chill. 
Here a warm woolly sweater and a cosy log fire rekindles all that is beautiful about our Autumn...Chestnuts, and mushrooms and scrumptious mountain stews guaranteed to sustain  the soul and the fires glowing embers warm the heart.

Oggi passeggiare in riva al lago era talmente rilassante, le principali attrazioni turistiche sono ormai chiuse, ed è come comincia un nuovo capitolo in un book.We sono ancora benedetti con cieli blu dall'alba al tramonto, e le temperature medie giornaliere sono un notevole 24 c °. Al contrario la serata ripristinare un brivido più stagionale.

Ecco un maglione di lana calda e un accogliente caminetto riaccende tutto ciò che è bello circa il nostro autunno ... Castagne e funghi e stufati di montagna deliziosi garantiti per sostenere l'anima e fuochi ardenti braci riscaldano il cuore.

This morning was a little cloudy and overcast but thankfully our Israeli family had enjoyed a week of Autumn sunshine, quite appropriate for their warm personalities! We'll miss their cheerful chatter at the breakfast table, always full of playful  humour...A wonderful way to start the day.

 Questa mattina era un po 'nuvoloso e nuvoloso, ma per fortuna la nostra famiglia israeliana aveva goduto di una settimana di sole autunnale, abbastanza appropriato per le loro personalità calde! Ci mancherà il loro allegro chiacchiericcio al tavolo della colazione, sempre pieno di umorismo giocoso ... Un modo meraviglioso per iniziare la giornata.

At this time of year the list of jobs to do in the garden is endless, and with age you find every excuse to delay the inevitable.There's lots of trees and shrubs that are now in need of cutting hard back, not a cosmetic prune, but a minimalistic brutal reduction. It may seem severe but come the spring everything will benefit from new growth and the abundance of light. Seeing a garden every day the growth creeps up and becomes invasive, and ultimately spoils everything one is trying to achieve. The classic expression "less is more" is just so apt. It's better to have a selective featured display, than to have hundreds of intermingling species.
Simplicity in planting and let "Mother nature" decide it's own pattern it usually knows best.

In questo periodo dell'anno l'elenco dei lavori da fare in giardino è infinita, e con l'età si trovano ogni scusa per ritardare i lotti del inevitable.There di alberi e arbusti che sono ora bisogno di tagliare posteriore duro, non una prugna cosmetici, ma con uno stile minimalista riduzione brutale. Può sembrare severo, ma giunto il tutto primavera potranno beneficiare di una nuova crescita e l'abbondanza di luce. Vedendo un giardino ogni giorno la crescita insinua e diventa invasiva, e in definitiva rovina tutto si sta cercando di raggiungere. La classica espressione "less is more" è proprio così apt. E 'meglio avere un display in evidenza selectivo, oltre ad avere centinaia di specie si mescolino.

Semplicità nella semina e lasciare "Madre natura" decidere il proprio modello di solito conosce meglio.

A respite from the deluge of rain this week.
I started the day with a brush and a mop to remove the storms debris. Nearly a week of abnormally heavy rain, all day and all night, the flow of which exceeds 20 mm per hour!!
The normal trickle of the forest streams turned into raging torrents engulfing everything in it's path. At one point we could not access our driveway because the road outside our gates had been destroyed by the floods! I hope this is not the trend for next winter!
 Una tregua dal diluvio di pioggia questa settimana.
Ho iniziato la giornata con un pennello e un mop per rimuovere i detriti tempeste. Quasi una settimana di pioggia insolitamente pesante, tutto il giorno e tutta la notte, il flusso è superiore a 20 millimetri all'ora !!
Il rivolo normale dei corsi d'acqua della foresta si trasformò in torrenti impetuosi inghiottendo tutto nel suo percorso. A un certo punto non abbiamo potuto accedere al nostro vialetto perché la strada di fuori dei nostri cancelli era stato distrutto dalle alluvioni! Spero che questo non è la tendenza per il prossimo inverno!

Low pressure conquered by Georgia's, Atlanta's (USA) high spirits positivity and big personalities!

Despite the barometers  low pressure and the predictable dismal weather., Susan and Fred's warm personalities just shone through and brightened up every day. Our magnificent Alpine terrain with  mountains and Mediterranean like Lakes, remained a mystery shrouded in water laden cloud.
A foggy memory enhanced by truly wonderful company. We hope you'll come back again and allow us to show you some of the hidden gems in this area of outstanding beauty. Our warmest regards..and a safe journey home to Atlanta, Georgia..
 Nonostante il barometri bassa pressione e il tempo lugubre prevedibile., Susan e personalità calde di Fred appena brillavano attraverso e illuminarono ogni giorno. Il nostro magnifico territorio alpino con montagne e mediterraneo come laghi, è rimasto un mistero avvolto in acqua carica di cloud.

Un ricordo nebbioso arricchisce di veramente meraviglioso compagnia. Speriamo che tornerai di nuovo e ci consentono di mostrare alcune delle gemme nascoste in questa zona di straordinaria bellezza. La nostra regards..and più caldo un viaggio sicuro a casa ad Atlanta, in Georgia ..

After a fabulous week of weather, golfing, shopping and eating, not forgetting the relentless sightseeing our intrepid foursomes depart for Lake Como today for a brief visit, and then onwards and home to Mexico, where tropical forests meet at the oceans edge, it sounds like paradise.

Dopo una settimana favolosa di tempo, golf, shopping e mangiare, senza dimenticare il giro turistico implacabile foursome intrepidi partono per il Lago di Como oggi per una breve visita, e poi in avanti e la casa in Messico, dove le foreste tropicali si incontrano a bordo degli oceani, sembra come il paradiso.
