I am hoping to publish a special edition of magnificent floral displays as seen and photographed by recent guests. This wonderful peacock was captured on film by Giulia from Civago (R.E)..the most beautiful midwife I have ever seen ! She could find a job in Hollywood without a problem....but what a loss to her patients!

Questo splendido pavone è stato catturato su pellicola da Giulia da Civago (RE) .. la più bella levatrice che abbia mai visto! Poteva trovare un lavoro a Hollywood senza un problema .... ma quello che una perdita per i suoi pazienti!
Despite a grey sky the Easter clouds lifted with the warmth of our charming guests. Angel and Raquel ( A Euro mix of Spanish nationality, living in France and working in Switzerland) they will be sadly missed for their cheerful dispositions, and sheer enthusiasm for all and everything they did...Come back soon and maybe for a little longer!
Nonostante un cielo grigio delle nuvole di Pasqua sollevato con il calore dei nostri ospiti affascinanti. Angelo e Raquel (Un mix Euro di nazionalità spagnola, che vive in Francia e lavorano in Svizzera) saranno tristemente perso per le loro disposizioni allegre, e l'entusiasmo puro per tutti e tutto quello che facevano ... Tornate presto e magari per un po 'di più !
Easter weekend and fresh snow on the hills
There's a certain predictability with public holidays and bad weather, but thankfully in between the showers there are bright spells allowing the determined tourist a few hours of invigorating walking well clad in thick woolly jackets!
I think my vegetable planting will have to wait another few weeks with such uncertainties with the temperatures.
Weekend di Pasqua e neve fresca sulle colline
C'è una certa prevedibilità con le feste nazionali e dal maltempo, ma per fortuna tra le docce ci sono schiarite che consentono al turista decisa poche ore di rinvigorente piedi ben vestite in giacca di lana di spessore!
Penso che il mio piantine di ortaggi e dovrà attendere ancora qualche settimana con tali incertezze con le temperature.
The Office, what a view eh! ...one of life's compensations.
Today my car is in for service and finally changing it's winter tyres, it's even got a wash today with the prospect of important guests to collect and chauffer in the coming days.
The demand for our bespoke holidays continues, in that we try to offer what our guests would really like to do. We go the extra mile.
Currently we have golfing tours in the area, painting courses in a local studio, trekking in the Ossola and Val Formazza region, and sightseeing but visiting the hidden gems, away from the crowds.
We are here to make our guests feel especially welcome, but also to provide memorable holidays...bookings extend to June 2015 so we must be doing something right!

L'Ufficio, che vista eh! ... uno dei compensi della vita.
Oggi la mia auto è in servizio e, infine, la modifica è pneumatici invernali, è anche ottenuto un lavaggio oggi con la prospettiva di ospiti importanti per raccogliere e autista nei prossimi giorni.
La domanda per le nostre vacanze su misura continua, nel senso che cerchiamo di offrire ciò che i nostri ospiti volessero veramente fare. Andiamo il miglio supplementare.
Attualmente abbiamo golf tour nella zona, corsi di pittura in uno studio locale, trekking nella regione Ossola e Val Formazza e visite turistiche ma visitando le gemme nascoste, lontano dalla folla.
Siamo qui per rendere i nostri ospiti si sentano i benvenuti, ma anche per offrire una vacanza indimenticabile ... prenotazioni si estendono a giugno 2015 quindi dobbiamo fare qualcosa di destra!

The rewards and the demands in the garden as new growth appears everywhere.
I still find it difficult to believe that geraniums can flower and prosper whilst the mountains are still snow capped, but I continue to plant new seeds in the hope that my vegetables will rally for traditional Sunday lunches, and some ad hoc fresh picked summer salads. We have become accustomed to home grown fruits they just never taste the same from the supermarket any more, and this sentiment is echoed by our Bed and Breakfast guests at La Casa del Giadiniere. Normally in the summer months the breakfast table is festooned with tasty plums, peaches and apricots, and the abundant berries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries a great start to the day full of natures goodness...and no preservatives or chemicals !
I premi e degli sforzi del giardino come nuova crescita appare dappertutto.
Trovo ancora difficile credere che possano gerani fiori e prosperare, mentre le montagne sono ancora innevate, ma io continuo a piantare nuovi semi nella speranza che le verdure si uniranno per pranzi domenicali tradizionali, e alcune hoc insalate estive ad fresche raccolte. Ci siamo abituati a casa cresciuta frutti hanno appena mai lo stesso sapore dal supermercato più, e questo sentimento è echeggiato dal nostro Bed and Breakfast gli ospiti presso La Casa del Giadiniere. Normalmente nei mesi estivi tavolo della colazione viene addobbato con gustose prugne, pesche e albicocche, e le bacche abbondanti, mirtilli, lamponi e fragole un ottimo inizio di giornata piena di nature bontà ... e senza conservanti o prodotti chimici!
As dusk approaches this evening, the air remains soft and velvety,and a peaceful veil of silence descends. I cannot believe this is April, it's more akin to August!
The only thing stirring is "Fuss Pots" one of our 10 cats, whose just considering making a bed in my precious geraniums!..Thankfully Pepper our border collie has other ideas!
Come crepuscolo si avvicina a questa sera, l'aria rimane morbido e vellutato, e un velo di pace del silenzio scende. Non posso credere che questo è il mese di aprile, è più simile ad agosto!
L'unica cosa di agitazione è "Pentole Fuss" uno dei nostri 10 gatti, di cui solo considerando facendo un letto nei miei gerani preziosi! .. Per fortuna Pepper nostro border collie ha altre idee!
The first blossoms arrive, with colour in abundance.
Every day now brings increased warmth, and the snow capped mountains give way to new growth even in the higher pastures. A welcome relief after a long winter, but a welcome sign for all our guests.
It's a significant day today as La Casa del Giardiniere celebrates receiving it's hundreth recommendation. And remains Trip Advisors number one choice in Bed and Breakfast's in the region.

Ogni giorno porta ora maggiore calore, e le montagne innevate lasciano il posto a una nuova crescita anche nei pascoli alti. Un sollievo dopo un lungo inverno, ma un segno di benvenuto per tutti i nostri ospiti.

At last a few Spring blossoms arrive. And warmth!
There has been a hesitancy this year with the seasons reluctant to commit, which is hardly surprising with the changing weather. Now even the birds welcome us each morning with a deafening chorus..full of bustling enthusiasm.. fantastic!
Finalmente pochi fiori di primavera arrivano. E il calore!
C'è stata una titubanza quest'anno con le stagioni riluttanti a impegnarsi, che non sorprende con il tempo che cambia. Ora anche gli uccelli ci accolgono ogni mattina con un coro assordante .. pieno di vivace entusiasmo .. fantastico!
After a leisurely stroll along Stresa's promenade,we decided on a coffee in the well known Piazza Possi. A wonderful place to relax and watch the world go by. As this is early April the piazza is very quiet, normally it is full of tourists having a beer, a coffee or an ice cream.
The unusual looking trees are from the Platano family, and still looking naked after the traditional pruning. When they are in leaf, they provide shade in abundance, which is really appreciated in the summer heat.
The Platano is also known as "The tree of Hippocrates" as legend would have it that he gave his first lessons in medicine under it's welcome canopy.
Today was very hazy as the warm southerly breeze met the cold mountain air, but tomorrow and for the coming week, we have lots sunshine and temperatures rising to 23°c...I 'm certain this quiet Piazza will be completly transformed, with a massive arrival of weekend revelers.
Dopo una piacevole passeggiata lungo la passeggiata di Stresa, abbiamo deciso di fare un caffè nella ben nota Piazza Possi. Un posto meraviglioso per rilassarsi e guardare il mondo che passa. Poiché questo è l'inizio di aprile la piazza è molto tranquilla, di solito è pieno di turisti avere una birra, un caffè o un gelato.
Gli alberi insoliti guardando sono dalla famiglia Platano, e ancora alla ricerca nudi dopo la potatura tradizionale. Quando sono in foglia, forniscono ombra in abbondanza, che è molto apprezzato nella calura estiva.
Il Platano è anche conosciuto come "L'albero di Ippocrate", come leggenda vuole che diede le prime lezioni in medicina sotto la propria baldacchino benvenuto.
Oggi era molto nebbiosa, come la calda brezza da sud ha incontrato l'aria di montagna fredda, ma domani e per la prossima settimana, abbiamo molto sole e temperature in aumento a 23 ° c ...
