Most of our guests only see Penny as she meets and greets them on arrival. Disappearing in a cloud of dust at mid day to instill posture and decorum into aspiring young classical dances.  I thought this image was worthy of circulation as it has interest for all. 

La maggior parte dei nostri ospiti solo vedere Penny mentre si incontra e li saluta all'arrivo. Scomparendo in una nuvola di polvere a metà giornata di instillare la postura e decoro in aspiranti giovani danze classiche. Ho pensato che questa immagine fosse degno di circolazione, che abbia un interesse per tutti.

Evening arrives in Brisino, stupendous! ...Sera arriva a Brisino, stupenda! .

I've been living in these magnificent 'hills' for almost 8 years now, and still they have this flirtacious charm,an irresistibile allure, that's become addictive.Ever day I pack my camera like a newly arrived tourist.
  I simply never tire of the captivating views,or the  forever changing light. I do wish more of our guests would consider 'winter breaks' I am convinced the experience would be 'life changing' and irreversable.
Ho vissuto in questi magnifici «monti» per quasi 8 anni, e ancora hanno questo fascino flirtacious, un fascino irresistibile, che è diventato dipendenza.
 Ogni giorno mi porto la mia macchina fotografica come un turista appena arrivato.!  Ho semplicemente stanco mai di affascinanti vedute, o la luce sempre mutevole. Vorrei che più dei nostri ospiti lo considero 'vacanze invernali' Sono convinto l'esperienza sarebbe 'che cambia la vita' e irreversibile.

Our makeshift bivouac is a star attraction for some of our" house guests"./Il nostro bivacco di fortuna è un attrazione principale per alcuni dei nostri "ospiti" della casa.

With plummeting temperatures, and overnight snow, our furry friends seek refuge in our makeshift bivouac.At least on the balcony they can view the daily activities. Their normal winter quarters are bunk beds in the garage, with coordinating duvets!
Con temperature crollo, e la neve durante la notte, i nostri amici a quattro zampe cercano rifugio nel nostro bivouac.At fortuna almeno sul balcone si possono visualizzare le attività quotidiane. I loro quartieri invernali normali sono letti a castello nel garage, con piumoni di coordinamento!

A circular tour this late afternoon,trying to capture the fast fading light.The first distant scene is Comnago a beautiful hilltop encampment as viewed across a great yawning chasm to the approaches to Massino Visconti.
Interestingly it belongs to the municipality of Lesa, the lakeside gem, close to Solcio. And supports a habitation of 86 lucky souls, although I suspect the numbers swell, when Milanese holiday homes are taken into account.
Un tour circolare questo tardo pomeriggio, cercando di catturare il veloce dissolvenza light.The prima scena è lontana Comnago un accampamento collina bella come visto attraverso un grande abisso sbadigliando agli approcci di Massino Visconti.

È interessante notare che appartiene al comune di Lesa, la gemma sul lago, vicino a Solcio. E supporta una abitazione di 86 anime fortunate, anche se ho il sospetto i numeri si gonfiano, quando case milanesi sono presi in considerazione.

Before climbing up to the Sanctuary, you will see on your left the small church of Saint Roch in Invorio Superiore, where mass is celebrated only once a year on August 16, the day of its patron saint’s commemoration. Until quite recently, the tradition of blessing the domestic and farm animals was carried out during the morning service. Following the same path, you will find the Invorio Superiore parish church, constructed after 1450 on the remains of a subsequently reworked Visconti fortress, and dedicated to Saint James.
In 1865 the parish priest Don G. Ottone decided to have the presbytery’s floor renovated; today it hosts an elegant star-shaped mosaic. From here, you can follow the marked street to the left to reach the shrine. Its location allows for a view of the built-up area of Ghevio, with its bell tower/tower, the village of Colazza, the Tiasca Valley that leads to Meina, and the same semi-hidden Invorio tower. The second floor provides a view of the Vergante as far as Nebbiuno.
The small church was originally dedicated to Saint Mary Elizabeth and was also known as the Sanctuary of the Girdle because of a painting inside of the Madonna throwing her girdle to the apostle Thomas during her assumption into the sky.
Still today it is used to follow the procession of torches that accompanies the statue in procession. The presbytery that contains the elegant black marble main altar with inlaid polychrome decoration was built on the ruins of the central tower.
A beautiful wooden statue of Mary handing over her Sacred Girdle while holding up the Baby Jesus with her left hand sits in a niche carved into the wall near the altar. In 1867 a small “hospice” designed for the appointed guardians of the church, two Franciscans from the Mesma convent, was added behind it. The same year the chancel and presbytery vault decorations, with the image of Madonna and the Girdle surrounded by angels in the clouds, were added to the church. In July 1901 two statues, of Saint Joachim and Saint Anna, were placed to either side of the statue of the Virgin.
Accessible by car up a narrow dirt road, or by walking for about an hour on foot along a pleasant path through the woods that starts from the parish church.

Santuario della Madonna del CastelloInvorioPrima di salire al Santuario, vedrete sulla vostra sinistra la piccola chiesa di San Rocco a Invorio Superiore, dove si celebra la messa solo una volta all'anno il 16 agosto, il giorno della commemorazione suo santo patrono. Fino a poco tempo, la tradizione di benedire gli animali domestici e la fattoria è stata effettuata durante il servizio di mattina. Seguendo lo stesso percorso, si trova la chiesa parrocchiale di Invorio Superiore, costruita dopo il 1450 sui resti di una fortezza successivamente rielaborato Visconti, e dedicata a San Giacomo.Nel 1865 il parroco don G. Ottone decise di pavimento del presbiterio ristrutturato, oggi ospita un elegante mosaico a forma di stella. Da qui, si può seguire la strada marcata a sinistra per raggiungere il santuario. La sua posizione permette una vista del centro abitato di Ghevio, con il suo campanile / torre di guardia, il paese di Colazza, la Valle Tiasca che porta a Meina, e lo stesso semi-nascosta torre di Invorio. You have to view it from a long way away...! But at least it finished..on to something new, a fresh challenge..something warmer and perhaps more colourful.

Bisogna vederlo da molto lontano ...! Ma alla fine è finito .. a qualcosa di nuovo. Una nuova sfida .. qualcosa di più caldo e forse più colorata.

Always a welcome sight, and such an economic way to keep the paddock trimmed. They even leave little deposits of fertilizer after their labours...and it's free of charge!
Sempre uno spettacolo di benvenuto, e un tale modo economico per mantenere il paddock tagliato. Hanno anche lasciare depositi piccoli fertilizzante dopo le loro lavoro ... ed è gratis!

Good morning November! / Buona mattina di novembre

After another night of gales and torrential rain, this mornings sunshine is a welcome sight. The photographs are taken from the office balcony looking towards Mottarone, and the distant snow capped mountains of the Ossola valley.
Dopo un'altra notte di tempeste e piogge torrenziali, il sole la mattina è uno spettacolo di benvenuto. Le fotografie sono tratte dal balcone ufficio guardando verso il Mottarone, e la neve lontana innevate montagne della Val d'Ossola.

A joyous reunion with old friends Jan and Urbs. Hugs in abundance, at every photo shoot..(digital photography does have it's perks!) Location and direction was perfect added to which we had a barmy day , with an  incredibile 23°c.
Our walk on the 22nd  October was memorable choosing the well walked trail around Alpino, Mottarone and onto the tranquil shores of Lake Orta, bellissimo.
Un abbraccio pieno di gioia con i vecchi amici Jan e Urbs. Abbracci in abbondanza, in ogni servizio fotografico .. (fotografia digitale ha i suoi vantaggi!) Posizione e la direzione era perfetta aggiunto a cui abbiamo avuto una giornata barmy, con un incredibile 23 ° c.

La nostra passeggiata il 22 ottobre è stata memorabile la scelta del sentiero ben indossato intorno Alpino, Mottarone e sulle rive tranquille del Lago d'Orta, bellissimo.

The gulf of Borromeo's placid waters today, as calm as 'a duck pond' basking in 24° c of glorious sunshine.
The Islands of Isola Bella, Pescatore, and Isola Madre, could be exotic hideaways in some mysterious blue lagoon.
Il golfo di acque placide Borromeo oggi, calmo come 'uno stagno di anatra' crogiolarsi al 24 ° c di sole splendente.

Following yesterdays high winds,the stage was set for a heavenly star clustered performance in last nights sky. The magical transformation at day break was breathtaking. This photo was taken on Pepper's walk just above the village of Magognino on the quiet track to Miseria.

Perfect if you're a mushroom or a gourmet!/Perfetto se sei un fungo o un buongustaio!

I'm always the optamist but I do think the weather is brightening! This mornings normal quiet amble through the forest with 'Pepper'  was like attending a football match.With people of all ages foraging for the prescious mushrooms. The conditions are perfect for the fungus spores to multiply, providing a confusing array of shapes and sizes. I'm always frightened to pick the wrong one's so I'll leave it to the experts!
 Sono sempre il optamist ma io credo che il tempo stanno migliorando! Questa mattina normale tranquillo passeggiare attraverso il bosco con 'Pepper' era piena di gente di tutte le età foraggiamento per i funghi prescious. Le condizioni sono perfette per le spore di funghi per moltiplicare, fornendo un insieme confuso di forme e dimensioni. Ho sempre paura di prendere quello sbagliato in modo Lascio agli esperti!

Arona's Sunday Antique Market./Arona Domenica Mercato antico.

A glorious Autumn Sunday found us negotiating with antique dealers for that illusive bargain. Our only purchase today was 'turquoise necklace with gold clasp'. It must have been the genuine article because we paid €10-00 !!
Another astray had us chatting to a lady who amongst other things was a ski instructor. She very kindly gave us a voucher for one free lesson the next time we are up on Mottarone's slopes!
Un glorioso Domenica autunnale ci ha trovato a trattare con antiquari per qualche affare illusoria. Il nostro unico acquisto oggi è stato 'una collana di turchese con chiusura in oro'. Deve essere stato il prodotto originale perché abbiamo pagato €10-00 !!

Per la nostra strada, chiacchierando con una signora che tra le altre cose è una maestra di sci, molto gentilmente ci ha dato un buono per una lezione gratuita la prossima volta che ci avventuriamo sulle pendici del Mottarone!

 With each passing stride along the way, the scenery and the light changes like some theatrical backdrop...it doesn't look real, it's like a fantasy!

A small gathering of  Alpine cattle just "chewing their cud,in contentment next to the soothing lapping waters edge.
 Un piccolo nucleo di bovini alpini solo "che brucano l'erba", in contentezza vicino al bordo rilassante sciabordio delle acque.

 As the gentle afternoon progresses,the late setting sun introduces some dramatic silhouettes, to the once velvety outlines!
 Mentre il pomeriggio dolce progredisce, il sole al tramonto tardo introduce alcune sagome drammatiche, per i profili una volta vellutate!

 Fantastic , what a transformation, it even looks like a different place on another day !
 Fantastico, che trasformazione, sembra anche come un luogo diverso in un altro giorno!

A shaft of light restores some normality to the scene, with the tranquil mix of moss greens and bright pasture grass,and that familiar imposing cragg behind Crampiolo's cosy little hamlet. 
 Un'asta di luce restituisce un po 'di normalità alla scena, con il misto di muschio verde tranquillo ed erba da pascolo luminosa, e quel familiare imponente sperone roccioso alle spalle del piccolo borgo accogliente di Crampiolo.
