The Formazza valley .A walkers paradise that feels like another world, and yet it is on our doorstep and really quite accessible. I have included a few new photographs courtesy of Lidia Erigoni, which show the beauty and majesty of this stunning landscape. A great escape for so many people seeking peace and quiet in the great outdoors. A day in the mountains is like a weeks holiday for me, it leaves me feeling refreshed,and energised, full of enthusiasm for the next adventure!
La valle di Formazza. Un paradiso per escursionisti che sembra un altro mondo, eppure è a portata di mano e davvero abbastanza accessibile. Ho incluso alcune nuove fotografie per gentile concessione di Lidia Erigoni, che mostrano la bellezza e la maestosità di questo splendido paesaggio. Una grande fuga per così tante persone in cerca di pace e tranquillità nei grandi spazi aperti. Una giornata in montagna è come una settimana di vacanza per me, mi fa sentire riposato ed energico, pieno di entusiasmo per la prossima avventura!

Patricia and Klaus from the Black Forest region of Germany. Farewell tomorrow! It has been a pleasure to make your aquaintance this week, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. It has been a pleasure to be your hosts, and we hope to see you again one day.
It has been the hottest week in Europe since records began, and certainly Stropino has not been an exception. Thankfully in the evening we do receive a cooler breeze from the mountains, which makes sleeping possible. Thankfully tonight and tomorrow we have rain forecast, with winds from the Atlantic, unlike the past few weeks where the hot winds have been coming from Africa.

Es war die heißeste Woche in Europa seit Beginn der Aufzeichnungen, und sicherlich war Stropino keine Ausnahme. Zum Glück bekommen wir abends eine kühlere Brise aus den Bergen, die das Schlafen ermöglicht. Zum Glück haben wir heute Abend und morgen eine Regenvorhersage mit Atlantikwinden, anders als in den letzten Wochen, als die heißen Winde aus Afrika kamen.                                                                                Patricia e Klaus della regione tedesca della Foresta Nera. È stata la settimana più calda in Europa da quando sono iniziati i dischi, e sicuramente Stropino non ha fatto eccezione. Per fortuna la sera riceviamo una brezza più fresca dalle montagne, il che rende possibile dormire. Per fortuna stasera e domani abbiamo previsioni di pioggia, con venti dall'Atlantico, a differenza delle ultime settimane in cui i venti caldi sono arrivati dall'Africa.

We spent two nights at La Casa del Giardiniere in June, and we didn't want to leave! The home is very modern, and our suite was quite large with a lovely terrace and even a small refrigerator for guests to use. The gardens are breathtaking: lush fruit trees and flowering vines abound. The breakfast (which is included) was fresh and delicious. Finally, the hosts are warm and inviting. I highly recommend!                                                                                                                                              

Abbiamo trascorso due notti a La Casa del Giardiniere a giugno e non volevamo andarcene! La casa è molto moderna e la nostra suite era piuttosto grande con una bella terrazza e persino un piccolo frigorifero per gli ospiti. I giardini sono mozzafiato: abbondano alberi da frutto lussureggianti e viti in fiore. La colazione (inclusa nel prezzo) era fresca e deliziosa. Infine, i padroni di casa sono cordiali e invitanti. Consiglio vivamente!
