The beauty that surrounds us...La bellezza che ci circonda

Greetings to friends old and new and also those still to visit La Casa del Giardiniere.
We've just returned from the slopes of Monte Mottarone where today we went intent on harvesting the local wild fruits.Unfortunately the harsh snap winter and the wet spring have delayed this years crop by at least a month.However not wanting to miss an opportunity I managed a few photographs to capture that view and the glorious summer sunshine.

Un saluto ad amici vecchi e nuovi e anche quelli ancora da visitare la Casa del Giardiniere.

Siamo appena tornati dalle pendici del Monte Mottarone dove oggi siamo andati intento a raccolta allo stato selvatico locale frutta.
Sfortunatomente scatto l'inverno rigido e la primavera piovosa hanno ritardato questa coltivazione anni, di almeno uno month.Comunque non voler perdere l'occasione sono riuscito qualche fotografia per catturare questo punto di vista e il sole estivo gloriosa.

Today was one of those rare ocassions at La Casa del Giardiniere...a day off mid week. This good fortune was further enhanced by glorious sunshine, from dawn till dusk.
After a wonderful lunch at Osteria del Castello in Intra, we then spent the afternoon admiring the beautiful gardens at Villa Taranto. A few photos to wet the appetite of forthcoming guests

Oggi era uno di quei rari ritrovati presso La Casa del Giardiniere ... un giorno di riposo a metà settimana. Questa fortuna è stata ulteriormente rafforzata dal sole splendente, dall'alba al tramonto.Dopo un pranzo meraviglioso in Osteria del Castello a Intra, abbiamo poi trascorso il pomeriggio ammirando splendidi giardini di Villa Taranto. Qualche foto per bagnare l'appetito degli ospiti prossime

Well yesterday was the official begining of summer, and thankfully the heavens obeyed! This week we have a charming contingent from New Zealand, and having travelled all those miles, the least we can provide is sunshine .This region is an area of outstanding beauty but clear blue skies from dawn to dusk are truly the"icing on the cake"
 Beh, ieri era l'inizio ufficiale dell'estate, e per fortuna il cielo obbedito! Questa settimana abbiamo un contingente affascinante dalla Nuova Zelanda, e dopo aver percorso tutti quei chilometri, il minimo che possiamo offrire è il sole. Questa regione è una zona di straordinaria bellezza, ma cielo azzurro dall'alba al tramonto sono davvero la "ciliegina sulla torta "

After weeks of unseasonal rain, finally the clouds retreat and reveal the familiar blue skies. It's "gin clear" today....long may this continue!

 Dopo settimane di pioggia fuori stagione, finalmente le nuvole ritirarsi e rivelare i cieli azzurri familiari. Si tratta di "gin clear" oggi .... questo può continuare a lungo!

May's storm clouds gather as the deluge continues/May nuvole temporalesche raccogliere il diluvio continua

Returning from my walk this afternoon the scene resembled a battlefield from the Somme. I had to carefully navigate the meadows with unseasonal welly deep puddles, skirting the menacing forests where colonial trees such as the silver birch had become unstable, and unpredictable.

 Their shallow roots and exaggerated rain swollen top growth had caused them to topple without warning.

Tornando dalla mia passeggiata questo pomeriggio la scena sembrava un campo di battaglia dalla Somme. Ho dovuto navigare attentamente le extrastagionali prati con pozzanghere profonde Welly, costeggiando le foreste dove gli alberi minacciosi coloniali come la betulla d'argento era di diventare instabile e imprevedibile.

  Le loro radici poco profonde e esagerata crescita superiore gonfio aveva causato loro per rovesciare senza preavviso.

 These lush green pastures will bring a wry smile to our visitors Jeanette and Susannah from sunny Brisbane. I joined them last night on our Annex sun terrace in the midst of a thunderstorm. Adorned in Kagools, and woolly hats they embraced all that the heavens could through at them!

Questi pascoli verdi porterà un sorriso ironico per i nostri visitatori Jeanette e Susannah dalla soleggiata Brisbane. Li ho raggiunti la scorsa notte sulla terrazza allegato nel bel mezzo di un temporale. Ornata in Kagools e cappelli di lana hanno abbracciato tutto ciò che i cieli potrebbero, attraverso di loro!

How short our memories are. In a matter of days these rain sodden meadows will be ablaze with colour, humming with busy insects....basically carrying on lifes cycle. Why do we make such a pantomime, life is after all unpredictable.

Come a breve i nostri ricordi sono. Nel giro di pochi giorni questi prati inzuppati di pioggia sarà risplendono di colori, canticchiando con gli insetti .... occupato essenzialmente portando avanti ciclo di morte. Perché fare una tale pantomima, la vita è dopo tutto imprevedibile.
